David Gordon music

David Gordon began his music career at the age of 8 playing the violin, at 12 he began to play the drums and guitar, and by the time he was in high school had added the piano and organ to his array of instruments. During the late 60's, he played the drums and keyboards, as well as vocals, with the pop group: The Blades of Grass. They recorded an album, which included their Top 40 Hit: Happy, and released other singles along with the title song from the film: I Love You, Alice B. Toklas. David appeared on several television shows such as Shindig, The Joe Franklin Show, and toured with Neil Diamond, The Doors, The Dave Clark Five, as well as performing backup work for Van Morrison and the Fifth Dimension.

After the group disbanded, David concentrated on his music studies to help him launch his solo career. David earned his Master of Arts degree from New York University in Music Education. During that time he studied jazz piano with the legendary pianist and teacher, Sanford Gold. David has also studied composition with Meyer Kupferman, voice with Lola Hayes and Carol Scarimbas, and Dalcroze Eurhythmics with Robert Abramson and Anne Farber.

David has performed his original songs on various television shows, New York City cabarets and night clubs, the Jewish Renaissance Festival, and college campuses. The release of David’s album, The 21st Century, is an exhibition of his work as instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter.  The David Gordon Trio and The Mint Condition Band continue to perform at clubs and college concerts.
